Amicia Ramsey is a television journalist, at FOX26 News, and she couldn't be more excited to call the Central Valley her new home. Before joining FOX26 she was a Multi-Media Journalist of WTOK-TV, covering reports throughout East Mississippi and West Alabama.

She has covered everything from a giant sinkhole that opened up at an IHOP parking lot, to municipal elections, to the recent cases involving Mississippi's HB1523 law.

She is the 2016 first-place recipient of the Mississippi Associated Press Award for 'Best Breaking Weather Coverage'. She was also chosen by viewers as one of the best TV personalities in “The Meridian Star's Readers Choice 2017”.

Previous stops include Columbia, SC where she worked as a General Assignments reporter.

She was born in St. Louis and raised in O'Fallon IL.

She attended the University of Missouri, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies concentrating in communications, journalism, and black studies.

While in college she had internships in competitive news markets including St. Louis, Milwaukee, and Jacksonville, FL.

Amicia has a true passion for mentoring aspiring journalists. Her other interests involve being active in her church and volunteering in her community. She is also a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
