Tulare Union's Kazmeir Allen breaks Central Section touchdown record

Tulare Union senior unning back broke the Central Section's single season touchdown record Thursday night, in The Tribe's quarterfinal playoff win.

In the first game of the Division II playoffs, against visiting Sunnyside, Tulare Union senior running back Kazmeir Allen broke the Central Section's single-season touchdown record. Allen entered the game two TD's shy of the mark held by former Mendota running back Edgar Segura (57), and promptly equaled it after two carries, less than three minutes into the game. Allen then picked up his record-setting 58th touchdown in the second quarter.

He would add more five rushing scores in the second half, making for a grand total of eight in the game. His 63 touchdowns on the season lead the country, and is only one behind the California state record for touchdowns in a season. That mark (64) was set in 2001 by Ventura's Tyler Ebell.

As if all that isn't enough - Allen's 434 yards and eight touchdowns in this one both set school records.
