Clovis West shut down in baseball championship, Selma goes back-to-back in softball

Selma won a softball Valley Championship for the second straight year at Margie Wright Diamond Saturday.

Saturday marked the last day of Central Section championships for the 2017-18 school year, with four baseball games at Rawhide Ballpark in Visalia, and four softball games at Margie Wright Diamond on the campus of Fresno State.

In the D-I baseball title game, top seed Clovis West was shut down by second seeded Stockdale and the Mustangs' UCLA-bound pitcher, Sean Mullen. The Golden Eagles managed just one hit in a 6-0 shutout.

In the D-III softball title game, Selma scored eight runs over the final four innings, in a come from behind 12-6 win against Dinuba. It was the second straight Valley Title for the Bears, even after moving up a division.
