Clovis West football coach to step down

George Petrissans met with his Clovis West High School football players Tuesday afternoon and told them he will step down as head coach at the end of this season.

In five seasons with the Golden Eagles, Petrissans has won 30 games and lost 18.

His team has also reached the Valley semifinals the last two years.

This season, the team is 1-7, coming off a 75-7 loss to top ranked Central High School.

Petrissans will stay on as a full-time teacher at Clovis West.
