FNR Report: Mt. Whitney vs El Diamante

Friday Night Rivals is headed on the road to Visalia this week to see El Diamante take on Mt. Whitney.

It's a game you can watch Friday at 7:30 p.m. on CW59.

In this week's Friday Night Rivals Report, we want to introduce you to some guys who don't normally get the publicity, the top lineman from each team.

Isaiah Loring is a 3-year starter at El Diamante, a captain who Coach Davin Ramos says is an all around great kid who does everything asked of him. "Isaiah plays with a motor. He doesn't really have quit in him, he pursues really well, he's made so many plays this year where he's caught guys from behind, that normally your defensive linemen don't make."

Loring also uses that motor on the Miners' wrestling team, and he plans to join the Navy after graduation.

Mt. Whitney has a 3-year starter on its offensive line.

Chase Carver's only listed at 5-8, 240 lbs. but don't judge a book by its cover.

Coach Adam Valencia said, "He's not the biggest guy, but he is one of the strongest guys that we have."

Carver plans to attend COS next year, but after football season, is very involved in the school's drama program, which is not what you'd expect listening to him talk about why he loves this sport. "Definitely the contact," said Carver. "You know, you ever have just a bad day - you get to come out here and just lay it out on someone. Just great."
