Some roads to Yosemite National Park back open
YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK —
UPDATE: Wednesday, 12:00 p.m.
El Portal Road (Hwy 140), Wawona Road (Hwy 41), and Big Oak Flat Road (Hwy 120 from the west) are back open.
Tire chains are required.
Areas remaining closed as of Wednesday:
- Badger Pass Road and Yosemite Ski & Snowboard Area
- All campgrounds
- Mariposa and Merced Groves of Giant Sequoias
All roads in Yosemite are closed due to heavy snow and fallen trees.
People currently in Yosemite should stay inside to avoid falling trees.

Jack Sawyer sent us pictures from inside Yosemite National Park and a video of a tree falling. Jack said his girlfriend was shooting video of all the snow when they heard a crack and were amazed to capture the tree falling, almost hitting the cars parked nearby.
