What's that smell in Fresno?
FRESNO, Calif. —
People living near northeast Fresno and north Clovis began noticing a foul smell in the area in the mornings and evenings since the temperatures began to drop in the fall of 2018.
Clovis Police and the Fresno Fire Department said their agencies were receiving calls about the stench.
PR Farms said it is manure, or fertilizer, that was being spread in local almond orchards. Almond farmers spread the fertilizer twice a year. The smell is more noticeable during the cooler hours of the day.
