UPDATE: Motorcycle rider killed in crash identified

    UPDATE (Monday, March 18): Kern County Coroner's office has identified the motorcyclist as Damon Hill, 41 from Bakersfield.

    UPDATE (Friday, March 15): Police told Eyewitness News that this motorcycle rider has died.

    BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – Surveillance video captured a crash Wednesday morning between a motorcycle and a car.

    Police said the crash took place on Union Avenue at 17th Street.

    Video provided by a business at that location, Tire & Wheel Mart, shows the car make a U-turn into the path of the motorcycle, sending the rider flipping into the air upon impact.

    Workers at Tire & Wheel Mart said they saw the crash happen and estimated the rider flew 60 feet in the air.

    Police said the rider suffered moderate injuries.
