Surveillance video catches salon burglar in Tower District
From smashed windows to theft, some business owners in Fresno's Tower District says they are annoyed with crime.
Shop owners say the unnecessary repairs are really starting to add up.
It's a place where clients come to look and feel good. However, all changed last Friday night when someone broke into Salon Posh in near Olive and Van Ness.
Owner Tanya Alvarado showed fox 26 where the culprit smashed the glass of the store door.
"This had never happened to me in 6 1/2 years. It was shocked and I felt like I had been violated I have worked so hard to get to where I am. For a random stranger just trying to get a quick buck," said Alvarado.
A surveillance camera viewing the parking lot caught the guy riding a bike wearing a Fresno State hoodie, light colored jeans and white shoes. A couple minutes later another camera caught him looking through the salon window in the same hoodie and a change of shorts.
In the past week, other businesses have been hit too. Just Wednesday, Timeless Beauty's front door window was smashed. The salon owner is now having the window replaced.
An unnecessary expense business owners are left to deal with and left angry. "How dare you just come in here and take a piece of us. How dare you? I hope you get caught. Karma will get you one way or another," said Alvarado.
Alvarado says she is sticking it out and hopes law enforcement will step up in the area.
