Students arrested for making school shooting 'joke'
Tulare County, CA (Fox26) - Two teenagers were arrested at Elbow Community School after school staff overheard them talking about carrying out a "Columbine Style" attack, where they could "kill a lot of people."
School staff believed the threat could be credible and called law enforcement immediately. The students admitted to having the conversation, but said they were joking.
Deputies have contacted the parents and will be searching the homes. Both students have been arrested and will face charges of making terrorist or criminal threats.
Sheriff Boudreaux and the Tulare County Sheriff's Office say they take ANY kind of criminal threats very seriously and they are never a joke.
They urge parents to please have this conversation with your children.
