Sanger man found alive a week after he disappeared

The Alameda County Sheriff's Office says 59-year-old John McEwen has been found near a lake outside of Livermore.

He was found Monday near Lake Del Valle.

Deputies say they had gotten a cell phone ping in that area and when they arrived they found McEwen and his truck.

McEwen told police that his truck got stuck in the mud and he was unable to get out.

McEwen had about a weeks worth of food and water, deputies say.

He was reported missing on October 30 after he didn't show up to his job in Fremont.
