Sanger High honors Hmong student scholars, parents

More than a dozen Hmong students were recognized at Sanger High School for their 4.0 or higher GPA. Their parents were also recognized.

Sanger High School held it's Hmong Parents Night on Wednesday.

School officials said it is to honor Hmong students with a 4.0 GPA or higher and their parents. More than a dozen students and their parents were recognized with certificates.

School officials said there is a big Hmong student population at the school that is continuing to grow. Many of these students parents are refugees. They said they wanted to make sure these students and their parents achievements were recognized.

Fox26 News Anchor Gia Vang was the keynote speaker. She spoke about how her parents helped shape her.
