UPDATE: The roadway has been cleared and has since reopened.

The Fresno County Corner's Office says the person killed in the crash is a 36-year-old Marc Garner II of Chowchilla.

An early-morning crash forced the closure of the Hwy. 168 ramp from Hwy. 41 Tuesday.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) said the crash happened around 4:30 a.m. Officers said a burgundy Hyundai hit a concrete abutment and crashed into a guardrail for some reason. The crash caused the car to flip.

The CHP could not initially confirm how many victims were in the car at the time of the crash, and were waiting for the coroner to arrive to investigate further. Around 6:00 a.m., investigators confirmed just one person died in the crash.

The Hwy. 168 transition road from Hwy. 41 was shut down until just after 7:00 a.m., after the crash scene was cleaned up and Cal Trans fixed a damaged guard rail.
