Professor who sparked social media controversy returns to Fresno State

June 1, 2018 - A Fresno State professor who sparked controversy on social media will be returning to teach.
Randa Jarrar, a professor in the Department of English at Fresno State, made headlines nationwide after she posted a series of controversial tweets about Former First Lady Barbara Bush, including calling her an "amazing racist".
Following her tweets, thousands of people signed a petition to remove Jarrar from Fresno State. After a review, Fresno State decided not to fire Professor Randa Jarrar.
Fresno State confirmed with FOX26 News that Jarrar will be teaching three classes in the fall.
She is scheduled to teach American Literature, Advanced Fiction Writing, and Arab-American Literature.
