Police: Visalia tax preparer arrested for fraud and identity theft
VISALIA, Calif. (FOX26 NEWS) —
A Visalia tax preparer is now being accused of falsifying documents, identity theft as well as burglary, police say.
According to Visalia P.D., Brandy Engman was arrested Thursday at Engman Tax Service in the 2300 block of South Cain.
In August 2017, detectives began investigating Engman for credit card fraud but soon they uncovered that she was also a suspect in identity theft as well as burglary.
A search warrant was issued at her office which was in the garage of her home. Engman was taken into custody and booked into the Tulare County Jail.
She's now being charged with check fraud, burglary, ID theft, theft by false pretense and knowingly falsifying tax documents. If you have any information regarding this case please contact the Visalia Police Department Property Crimes Unit at 713-4720.
