Parents and students show support Central Unified Superintendent
FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) —
Parents rallied to show their support and to demand Central Unified School District keep its superintendent.
Dozens of parents and even some students spoke up to support Mark Sutton at the district's board meeting at Central High School.
Sutton's contact on the job expires this summer if he's not given an extension, something that one parent and former teacher says the district can't afford to do. "...band, football, sports, he supports absolutely everything. He visits every school site, daily. He's so plugged in that he knows everything that's going on all the time and everybody in this community is starting to feel that... and so right now, that's their frustration," said Wendy Yribarren.
We're told the board has to decide 45 days before Sutton's contract expires on June 13, 2018, which is the end of the school year.
