Nooses found hanging from railroad bridge in Fresno

UPDATE: Tuesday, January 2, 2018 - The nooses found hanging from a railroad trestle have been removed.

A spokesperson with BNSF says the nooses were reported on Sunday, December 31st.

It's unknown who put the nooses there in the first place, but the spokesperson said they easily could have been killed because of where they were hanging.

A BNSF Bridge Team responded and removed all 8 nooses.

Authorities are still investigating the incident and anyone with information is asked to call 1 (800) 832-5452.

Fresno Police received a call to investigate multiple nooses hanging from a railroad bridge over the San Joaquin River Sunday morning.

They were visible from the 11th green at Riverside Golf Course. An employee called in the disturbing site.

Eight nooses were found around 30 feet in the air tied to the underside rafters of the train bridge.

They were not accessible without some sort of lift.

Police have turned the case over to railroad police.
