TULARE CO., Calif. (FOX26 NEWS) — The Tulare County Sheriff's Office is now looking for a pair of crooks that stole nearly $23,000 worth of cigarettes in a string of burglaries.
The Sheriff's Office says the burglaries first began on April 27th, when the suspects broke into the Dollar General in Pixely and stole $3,250 worth of cigarettes. Three days later, April 30th, the crooks broke into a Doc's Coroner in Tulare and took $1,300 worth of cigarettes.
Investigators say the burglaries stopped until June 15th, when the suspects were caught on camera breaking into the Chevron at 36005 HWY 99 in Traver. The pair stole approximately $8,640 worth of cigarettes and tried to steal cash from the register. Deputies say the crooks drove away in a light-colored newer Honda with tinted windows. Then on June 28th, the pair broke into the Red Barn at 19558 Road 296 in Exeter and stole $3,000 worth of cigarettes. The last reported burglary happened July 3rd, the crooks targeted the same Chevron at 36005 HWY 99 in Traver where they stole $6,700 worth of cigarettes. This time the suspect drove away in a maroon-colored sedan, possibly a Honda.
