Man wanted in Fresno murder arrested in Texas
A man wanted for a murder in Northwest Fresno is now behind bars – in Texas.
Police caught Lavale Vean in the town of Childress, near the Texas-Oklahoma border.
The local newspaper “The Red River Sun” reports Vean had led officers on a high-speed chase Friday night.
He got away.
But they tracked him down Saturday morning at a motel.
Vean had been wanted for the killing of 52-year-old Roberto Ramos on October 2, 2017 at a home on the 5000 block of West Fir Avenue.
Ramos' wife and 20-year-old son were also hurt in the shooting.
Shortly after the shooting, Fresno Police had said there were connections between Vean and the victims, and they considered this an “isolated but deliberate” crime.
Vean is being held at the jail in Childress on multiple warrants.
