Man accused of beating another man with a power tool in southeast Fresno

Fresno Police said Jaime Hernandez (50) used a battery-powered impact wrench to beat another man over a dispute involving money Monday.

A man was arrested Monday after Fresno Police said he beat another man with a power tool and stole a U-Haul truck.

Officers said the fight happened in the area of Peach and Belmont in southeast Fresno. Detectives said the incident started over a dispute about money. During the argument, police said 50-year-old Jaime Hernandez beat the other man with a battery-powered impact wrench and stole the U-Haul.

People in the area started calling the police to report a wrecked U-Haul at Washington and Homsy that had caught fire. The Fresno Police helicopter found Hernandez walking away from the crash. He was arrested for felony carjacking.
