Madera County health department expands Covid-19 testing
Madera County health officials are expanding Covid-19 testing in Madera and outlying communities.
In Madera testing is now being offered everyday but Sunday. Sara Boss is the Madera County director of public health.
"It has always been true that testing is super important for us to know what's going on in terms of the spread to the illness, from a population health perspective and certainly for individuals if
they have symptoms they're very interested to know is it Covid or is it something else."
The regional state at home order encourages people not to have large gatherings. Bosse strong supports the order. But she says if you need to see loved ones for important reasons this holiday season
testing ahead of time is a good strategy.
"So testing needs to be done several days in advance so that people can get test rules back and while they're waiting they must quarantine."
Tuesday drive-thru testing will be held at Courthouse Park in Madera from 8 AM until 6PM.
Wednesday thru Saturday testing will take place at the health department from 8AM until 6PM.
