An interactive map can help people determine whether or not their house survived the Northern California wildfires.

The map, created by Robin Kraft, gives an aerial view showing the damage from the fires street by street.

The areas in red on the map show the presence of vegetation, and the black areas show what has been burned.

Residents can navigate the map to find their exact street and see what the street looks like from above.

Kraft's open source map coverage spans from Santa Rosa to Napa. As Kraft gets new information, he will update the map.

If people see that their house appears to be gone, please verify that information with other sources and look at the surrounding area for context.
