Hit-and-run crash sends women to hospital, intersection closed for hours


A driver is on the run and two women are in the hospital after a crash involving four cars Saturday afternoon in Southeast Fresno.

Officers were called to Kings Canyon and Maple before 7:00 p.m.

They say a red minivan was traveling eastbound on Kings Canyon when the driver ran a red light.

The van hit a white Toyota sedan that was headed southbound, and two more cars.

Two women were pulled from the Toyota and rushed to an area hospital for treatment.

Police say both are in critical condition.

Witnesses told police the driver of the van left the scene.

She is described as a Hispanic woman, wearing a pink tank top, blue jeans and she has brown hair.

The intersection is closed for several hours as officers investigate the crash.
