Squaw Valley home lost in wildfire, family searching for pets


UPDATE: Thursday, October 12, 2017 - A vegetation fire on Wednesday destroyed a home on Marlar Lane in Squaw Valley.

The fire killed several animals at the home. Those that survived ran away.

The owners are now searching for their five dogs, 4 adult St Bernards and a 9-week old puppy.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking people living in the area or passing through the area to keep an eye out for these dogs who are described as being friendly and approachable.

UPDATE: Wednesday, October 11, 2017 - CalFire says the Silver Fire has burned 50 acres and is 15% contained as of 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night.

Crews say at least one structure was destroyed during the fire but that all forward progress has been stopped.


SQUAW VALLEY, Calif. (FOX26 News) -- The Fresno County Sheriff's Office and the Fresno County Fire Department is issuing evacuation warnings in Squaw Valley due to a wildfire.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
