The City of Fresno and Fresno Community Solar Developers held a news conference Wednesday morning to announce Fresno’s first solar farm.

The new facility will be located on 158 acres of city-owned land.

Families within the region who meet the income eligibility requirements will benefit from a 20% energy savings for twenty years.

The initiative will move the City of Fresno into a greener economy, provide hands-on job training to individuals from disadvantaged communities, and leverage a greater return of investment on city-owned land.

Councilmember Miguel Arias, joined by Mayor Jerry Dyer, Councilmember Esmeralda Soria, and Fresno Community Solar Developers, LLC.
