Family left heartbroken after puppy stolen from backyard
WEST FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26 NEWS) —
A West Fresno family is left heartbroken after its puppy was stolen from its backyard in broad daylight.
It happened around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday near Mckinley and Blythe.
The owner of the dog told Fox26 that her husband had just left home for a funeral when he got a phone call from a neighbor saying that their 5-month-old pitbull puppy "Queenie" had been stolen.
The neighbor said 3 Hispanic men who were in their mid 20's-30's pulled up to the house in a black Isuzu Rodeo with oversized tires. One of the men got out and walked up to the front door. The neighbor believes he was trying to see if anyone was at home.
He walked back to the car and drove off. Less than 10 minutes later the men returned, exited the car and walked up to the backyard fence. The neighbor says the men hoped over the fence and jumped back over with "Queenie."
Another neighbor's surveillance system was able to capture the car leaving the scene.
The family says at this point they don't care about who took "Queenie," they just want her back.
