COARSEGOLD, Calif. (FOX26) — The Madera County Sheriff's Office says an arrest has been made in an ongoing mail theft case.
Deputies say beginning around November of 2017, deputies received several calls about mail thefts in the Coarsegold area.
Deputies say because the mail thefts kept happening, detectives started to investigate and were able to identify a house that was possibly related to the mail thefts.
On April 10, detectives were able to search a warrant at a house in the 43000 block of Running Deer Drive and found a large amount of stolen mail linking back to 27-year-old Britteny Ford.
Deputies say the mail thefts happened between November of 2017 and January of 2018. A large portion of these thefts took place in the Yosemite Lakes Park area.
Ford was arrested and booked in the Madera County Jail for identity theft.
The investigation is ongoing and deputies say Ford is expected to face additional theft charges.
