Convicted Fresno child molester sentenced to 780 years to life

UPDATED: Tuesday, May 8, 2018 - A convicted child molester who was facing 1,882 years in prison has been sentenced.
In March, Cornelio Jimenez was convicted of all 36 counts of child molestation and child pornography.
On Tuesday, he was sentenced to 780 years to life.

March 7, 2018 - A Fresno man will spend the rest of his life in prison for crimes against children.
On Wednesday, 42-year-old Cornelio Jimenez was convicted of all 36 counts of child molestation and child pornography.
Jimenez was charged in 2015 with sexually assaulting two girls, ages 4 and 7, who were the children of a family he lived with.
The crimes happened June 2014 to June 2015 and Jimenez recorded some of the acts, which led to charges of child pornography and producing child pornography.
Jimenez was already a registered sex offender so he was also charged with having a prior conviction.
Jimenez will be sentenced on May 8th in Fresno County Superior Court.
He faces up to 1,882 years in prison, but after serving 25 years and being over 60-years-old, Jimenez would be eligible for release under the Elderly Parole Program.
