During the stop, the officer suspected the driver was engaged in criminal activity and called in CHP K-9 Officer “Beny.”
Beny sniffed the exterior of the 2017 Toyota Tundra and alerted his handler to the odor of narcotics.
A search of the truck located a cardboard box in the bed which contained a large amount of U.S. currency, which was sealed in plastic.
An official count is pending but officers estimate it to be approximately $600,000.
The driver was arrested and charges are pending.
Officers believe the money was made from the sale of narcotics.
Good job, Beny!
