A Cal Fire helicopter made an unexpected landing in a farm field in the foothills tonight.
Cal Fire says crew on the helicopter were doing training when it had to make an unexpected landing because a maintenance light turned on.
Cal fire says the three pilots on board were advised to land in an open space.
The crew safely touched around 4:30 in the evening.
Cal fire and maintenance crews on scene make repairs within a couple of hours
Saying it was likely an problem with the spark plug near the transmission.
That flight unit was from Millerton and returned to the fire station there once they were cleared.
Fire officials say mechanics will run more tests on the helicopter Thursday.
