1 killed in crash on Highway 41
COARSEGOLD, Calif. (FOX26) —
The California Highway Patrol is on scene of a deadly crash.
It happened around 7:30 a.m. Thursday on Highway 41 at Road 200 in the Coarsegold area.
CHP says a car was driving north on Highway 41 when it slowed to turn off the highway and into a driveway. The driver hit the brakes too hard, causing the car to go sideways into oncoming traffic.
CHP says a car traveling in the southbound lane crashed directly into the side of the other car, causing the victim's car to rollover.
The victim was pronouced dead at the scene. Two people in the other car were taken to the hospital, CHP says.
Traffic is backed up in both directions and one-way traffic control has been put in place.
The crash remains under investigation.
