Free groceries for a veteran shopping in Fresno

Lobo tells Liz he is a veteran of the U.S. Marines who served in Vietnam.

FOX26 News and Grocery Outlet are partnering this holiday season to give free groceries away to people of the Central Valley, just in time for Thanksgiving.

Watch what happened when FOX26 News reporter Liz Gonzalez surprised a man shopping at the Grocery Outlet in Fresno.

Liz surprised Lobo, standing in line at the Grocery Outlet at Blackstone and Ashlan Avenues.

Lobo is a veteran of the U.S. Marines who served in Vietnam, and was wearing a United States Marines tee shirt and a hat that said Native Veteran Marine.

Liz thanked Lobo for his service and told him we want to celebrate him today and pay for his groceries.

Sarah, the store manager, stopped by to thank Lobo for shopping at Grocery Outlet.

Lobo was very thankful and said nothing like this ever happens to him. He also added Semper Fi.
