As FOX 26 continues to cover the devastation the Creek Fire is leaving behind, we are now hearing from more people who lost their homes in the fire.
Dawna Lord says she found out this weekend that her home burned down.
"I've been up here since the '70s and I was in that house for almost 33 years."
She says as she was evacuating she did not know what to bring with her; she grabbed a few essentials and her pets before taking off.
"There are so many people involved in this," says Lord. "It's just so wonderful to see everyone join together. It's so touching."
A group near Prather says they decided to gather donations from Clovis Hills Community Church, Double S Ranch, and Acura of Fresno to give to people who've lost their homes.
Diane Berg was one of the women passing out groceries items to people in need.
"We thought we'd instead of sitting around and not doing anything, a girl in mountain mounds wanted to get people together and go down to Clovis Hills and load up as much as we could to get," says Berg."We wanted to get closer to the community so we could distribute it up here."
Signs all along the 168 are spread out thanking these firefighters for the work they are doing.
Deborah Smith lives in a neighborhood nearby that is covered in signs.
"We thank everyone who is involved," says Smith. "We have a tremendous outpouring of support from everyone all around here so we are very lucky."
Dawna says she is planning on moving into a new place soon but as of right now she is staying with friends and family.
The donations table is at the 4-lane intersection near Highway 168 and Auberry road.
The group says they will continue to be out there until people can get back into their homes.
