Creek Fire Latest: Links and information

This is the latest update on the Creek Fire from Sunday, Sep, 32th.

It currently stands at 201,908 acres burned and is 8% contained.

The Creek Fire is burning on both sides of the San Joaquin River near Mammoth Pool, Shaver Lake, Big Creek, and Huntington Lake.

The weather has improved over the last two days and crews are making progress focusing on keeping more structures from burning.

As of Sunday morning, 365 structures have been destroyed, which includes at least 60 homes.

As the damage inspection teams continue to complete their survey of the area and additional data is confirmed, the number of structures damaged or destroyed may change.

There are a total of 2,301 personnel working on the Creek Fire.

Closures and Alerts:

The US Forest Service temporarily closed all National Forests in California.

Evacuation Orders:

Fresno County: 

  • Shaver Lake down to Cressman Road, including Cressman Road
  • Big Creek
  • Huntington Lake
  • Camp Sierra
  • High Sierra areas, which include: Florence Lake, Ward Lake, Portal Forebay, Edison Lake Mono Hot Springs, Kaiser and all campgrounds.
  • The area west of Tollhouse, along Auberry Road west to Powerhouse Road.
  • Alder Springs, Mile High, Meadow Lakes, Big Sandy, Mono Wind Casino, Jose Basin & Italian Bar.
  • Dinkey Creek, Wishon & Courtright Reservoirs.
  • Tollhouse Road at Peterson Road down to Lodge Road
  • Beal Fire Road
  • Powerhouse Road to the San Joaquin River
  • Entire town of Auberry, which extends from the San Joaquin River on Powerhouse Road to Auberry Road in both directions out to Hwy. 168. This includes the points next to Prather and next to Cressman's General Store.
  • Sycamore and Burrough Valley.
  • Watts Valley from Maxon Road to Pittman Hill Road.
  • Maxon Road to Trimmer Springs Road.
  • Humphrey’s Station to Tollhouse Road.
  • Humphrey’s Station to Pittman Hill Road to Sample Road

Madera County: 

  • Bass Lake Basin, including Wishon,
  • Bass Lake Annex and Manzanita
  • The town of North Fork and the surrounding area

Evacuation Warnings:

Fresno County: Community of Prather. South of Little Sandy / Lodge Rd. North East of Tollhouse Rd. North of Millerton Rd. / Nicholas Rd. East Auberry Rd.

Madera County: Oakhurst, O’Neals, Walker Grade, Chukchansi, Indian Lakes, and the portion of Coarsegold east of Highway 41.

Road Closures:

Fresno County: Prather Roundabout (SR-168 at Prather), Watts Valley Road at Pittman Hill Road, SR-168 at Lodge Road, Sample Road at Pittman Hill Road, Auberry Road at Powerhouse Road, North Fork Road at Road 222, Trimmer Springs at Maxon Road, Tollhouse Road at Pittman Hill Road.

Madera County: Road 426 at Road 223, Road 200 at Road 221, Road 274 at Roads 222 and 225, Skyranch at Buckskin, Cascadel Arch, Road 420 at Road 223, White Chief Mountain Road at Sugar Pine, and Fish Camp.

Animal Evacuation:

Fresno County: Small animals – Clovis North 2770 East International Ave.

UPDATE: The Clovis Rodeo Grounds is at capacity and is no longer accepting animals evacuated from the Creek Fire at this time.

Producers Livestock located at 1022 South Pine, Madera is now accepting large animals that have been displaced during the Creek Fire. Call Matt at (559)676-0488

Donations can be dropped off at the Fresno Fairgrounds at the Gem & Mineral Building.

Enter the Fairgrounds from Chance Avenue (1121 S. Chance Ave) just south of the Administration Building.

EVAC HELP

For evacuation orders for animals and livestock on the madera county side, you need to Call Naomi at the Central California Animal Disaster Team.

If your livestock is in a mandatory evacuation order zone in Fresno County(Auberry, Prather, Pine Flat, Shaver Lake, Tollhouse) you need to call Fresno County Sheriff dispatch. FCSO is doing a great job handling all the mandatory evacuation order requests for animals and livestock.

Central California Animal Disaster Team

The CCADT is responding to the Creek Fire working with the Sheriff's Office, Animal Services, and other evacuation partners. If you need evacuation assistance, please text (888) 402-2238.

DONATIONS:

Fresno County asks that you DO NOT donate material goods that have not been specifically requested and coordinated with the emergency operation.

Despite the best intentions, unsolicited donated items are NOT needed and can quickly overwhelm relief efforts.

When possible, make monetary donations to reputable organizations helping those affected and/or register with them to volunteer your time.

If you wish to donate goods, please contact your relief organization of choice first to identify the specific needs and make appropriate arrangements.
