The Fresno Area California Highway Patrol got calls about two vehicles slamming into each other at the intersection of Kamm Avenue and Marks Avenue around 9:00 A.M.
The CHP says the 65-year-old ran through a stop sign, slamming into 28-year-old Gonzalo Regino, who was driving a pickup truck with a cattle trailer attached.
Officers say Regino wasn't able to swerve out of the way, and hit the other driver, who was killed.
Regino was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The CHP is waiting on toxicology results to see whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
