Fresno special needs runner invited to Boston Marathon

The most unforgettable scene of the 2016 Two Cities Marathon in Fresno was watching 23-year-old Kyle Grossman near the finish line. The special needs runner, competing in his first ever marathon, had cramped up with less than a mile to go. But with physical support from fellow runners, and emotional support from many friends and family members cheering him on, Kyle finished the race.

One year later, Kyle was back for his second marathon. Again, the cramps came, but Kyle fought them off, and came to the homestretch stronger than ever. He finished the 26.2 miles in four hours flat, a personal record.

After the race, Kyle got the best news he could've asked for - he'd been invited to the 2018 Boston Marathon - something he'd been dreaming about.

Kyle will race as part of "Dougie's Team." He will help fundraise for the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism.
