Familiar faces dominate Saturday Valley Championships at Selland Arena

The Immanuel boys won a Valley Title for the fifth year in a row- but first in D-III.

Day two of Central Section basketball championships at Selland Arena saw plenty of familiar faces celebrating a Valley Title.

In Division I boys, Central made it a three-peat, by beating Bullard 79-77.

In Division I girls, Clovis West won for the sixth straight year, topping Clovis North 63-49.

In Division III boys, Immanuel overcame a 17-point second half deficit to surprise Sanger 68-57. It was the Eagles' fifth year in a row winning Valley, but first in D-III.

In Division III girls, Immanuel also won, and also for the first time in D-III. The Eagles held off Golden Valley 43-37, for the team's fifth title in six years.

In Division IV boys, Kerman bested Bakersfield Christian 55-49. It was actually the Lions first Valley win since 1955.

In Division IV girls, San Joaquin Memorial beat defending champion Sierra Pacific 58-51. The Panthers won last year in Division V.
