'Dogs end Nevada's streak

The Fresno State men's basketball team got its first Mountain West victory of the new season Saturday, knocking off Nevada, 77-76.

The Wolf Pack entered the game with a record of 12-2 and a seven game winning streak.

Five players scored in double figures for the Bulldogs. Jaron Hopkins, Jahmel Taylor and Paul Watson scored 14 points apiece. Karachi Edo had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Nevada's Marcus Marshall led all scorers in the game with 26 points.

Fresno State, now 9-5 overall and 1-1 in the Mountain West, will host Wyoming Wednesday night.

The Fresno State women's team also got a one-point victory over Nevada for its first conference win.

Candice White scored 25 points to lead the Bulldogs to a 71-70 win over the Wolf Pack in Reno.
