He underwent chemotherapy, received a stem cell transplant in 2012, and had a bone marrow transplant.

The Justin Garza Blood and Marrow Registry Drive is credited with registering more than 2,000 people.

Garza's cancer returned in late 2016.

He stepped down from a successful coaching career in 2015 to focus on his cancer battle.

Garza led the Central High Grizzlies to the Valley Championship game in 2012 and won the TRAC in 2013.

He also coached at Reedley and Sunnyside High Schools.

He is survived by his wife, Regina and his two children Joaquin Elena.

Justin was 41-years-old.

You too can "stand for more" by registering to be a bone marrow donor.
