In Your Backyard: Hiking in Yosemite, Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks

Living in the Central Valley, it's an easy day trip to three of the most celebrated national parks. In this week's "In Your Backyard," FOX26 KMPH Sports Reporter Nick King looks at some of his favorite hikes in Yosemite, Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park.

Recommended hikes include Panorama Trail, Upper Yosemite Falls and Mist Trail in Yosemite National Park. One of the "crown jewels" of the National Parks System, Yosemite must-see's also include exploring the Valley Floor and looking out from Glacier Point, both of which are very accessible to anyone, needing only a few steps from the car for spectacular views. Of course, climbing the cables to reach Half Dome is as memorable an experience as the park offers.

In neighboring Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks, recommended hikes include Moro Rock, Alta Peak, Giant Forest, Mist Falls, Zumwalt Meadow, Copper Creek Trail and the Don Cecil Trail to Lookout Point.
