Forever 21 reporting it may have been hacked
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX26) —
Fashion retailer Forever 21 is notifying its customers that it may have been hacked.
The retailer says it received a report from a third party that suggested there may have been unauthorized access to data from payment cards used at some stores.
The company says because of the encryption implemented in 2015, it appears that only certain point of sale devices in some stores were affected.
The company is focusing the investigation on transactions between March and October.
Forever 21 says the investigation is ongoing and it’s too early to provide further details.
Forever 21 is advising customers to monitor credit card statements and report anything unauthorized to the credit card company.
Forever 21 posted the following statement on its website:
We regret that this incident occurred and apologize for any inconvenience. We will continue to work to address this matter. For more information, please visit forever21.com/protecting_our_customers.
