Visalia man sentenced to life in prison for child molestation

A Tulare County jury found a Visalia man guilty of child molestation Friday.

Joseph Baltezor, 42, was convicted of 20 counts of lewd acts on a child under the age of 14, one county of lewd act on a child aged 14, and one count of sexual penetration of a child ten or under. On six of the counts, Baltezor was found to have substantial sexual conduct with a victim under the age of fourteen.

According to court documents, the crimes occurred between 2008 and 2013 against a single minor female victim who was between nine and fourteen years of age at the time of the sexual assaults.

Sentencing is scheduled for May 25, 2018, in Superior Court where Baltezor faces the possibility life in prison. In addition to his sentence, he will have to register as a sex offender.
