Sheriff Mims invited to the White House to speak to President Trump about sanctuary cities
WASHINGTON, D.C. (FOX26 NEWS) —
Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims traveled to Washington D.C., to talk to President Donald Trump about anti-sanctuary cities.
Sheriff Mims was joined by other law enforcement leaders in the state including Stanislaus County and Sheriff Adam Christianson.
Also at the meeting as United States Attorney General Jeff Sessions and House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy.
The session with President Trump took place Wednesday afternoon and it focused on the need for California's cooperation with ICE officials to stem a new tide of illegal immigration.
