Fresno County Sheriff's Office says a man may have tried to abduct a woman from the parking lot of Valley Food Market in Caruthers.

The sheriff's office says a woman filed a report that said a man may have tried to lure her into his car by pretending to be stuck on a roll of barbed wire in the back of his Nissan Sentra on June 26 around 3:45 in the afternoon. The woman told deputies that as she was walking by the car, the man called out to her that he was stuck, and needed her help to get free of the barbed wire in his car. The woman said she saw that he was not stuck, and told him she was going to go inside to get help.

The man backed out of his parking space and drove away. Surveillance video caught the encounter.

The man is described as in his mid-20s and is Hispanic or Indian. He drove a silver color 2014 or 3015 Nissan Sentra.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at (559) 600-3111
