A 16-year-old girl is dead following a drive by shooting in Selma.

The shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. Thursday on the 1400 block of Mill Street.

Selma officers went to the area for a report of shots fired and found the girl in the driveway of a home.

Officers say she was hit with what appeared to be a small caliber weapon.

They also found several shell casings in the street.

Witnesses say there were about a dozen people in the driveway at the time of the shooting but most of them ran away.
