Teen clothing store Rue21 confirmed it was shuttering 400 stores in the U.S. Saturday in a post on Facebook.

The privately-held company says it is closing about one-third of its brick-and-mortar stores nationwide to focus more on online sales.

There are five stores open in the Central Valley, but two of them are closing:

Three other rue21 stores would remain open, according to the company:

Based out of Cranberry, Pennsylvania (north of Pittsburgh), rue21 has been battling declining mall traffic amid strong competition online. The company did not say how soon the physical stores would close, but rue21 was promoting store-closing sales through its website.
