Porch pirate caught on camera

Porch pirate caught on camera.

Another day, another person ripped off by a package thief.

Surveillance video shows a man jump out of a van, walk right up to a Fresno home, swipe a package, and jump right back into the van.

He made off with more than $60 worth of health food products, and protein powders, and it took less than 20 seconds.

The license plate on that van is "5UPC371".

If you know that man, or who the van belongs to, call the Fresno Police Department at (559) 621-7000.

This happens day after day, and now businesses and property management companies are installing lockers to help stop these package thieves.

Several Northeast Fresno apartments have installed Luxor lockers on the property.

When a package is delivered, the shopper gets a text message, with a code. They are able to use that one-time code to get their package.

There are also three different Amazon locker locations in the Fresno/Clovis location.

These lockers are installed inside Von's, where shoppers can also go and pick up their packages.

Other ways to keep these porch pirates off your porch are to have the packages delivered to your office, or if you have a neighbor you trust, have it delivered there.

Having it delivered to your home is just not worth the risk.
