A Mariposa two-year-old who was rescued earlier this month after wandering away from his Mariposa home got to thank his heroes Saturday.

Fox26 News shared Hayden Harper’s story on March 2nd.

The adventurous boy had taken his dogs for a walk near his home in the foothills.

It took an army to find him: friends and family, deputies and detectives, 20 Search and Rescue team members, a CHP Helicopter H-40 and a CHP Air-41 Plane.

Hayden was found three hours later, a mile away from his home, by his Grandpa and Search and Rescue members.

His dogs were still by his side.

Shortly after he was found, Hayden told his family members he was excited to see the aircraft that was looking for him – and he now wants to be a pilot!

Saturday, Air-41 and H-40 took a break from their patrol flights to meet Hayden Harper and family members.

The CHP – Central Division Air Operations said it was an absolute pleasure meeting Harper and his family.

It added that when Hayden gets his pilot wings, “Have him give us a call!”
