Man shot in west Fresno

Fresno Police were investigating after they said a 29-year-old man was shot near the Fresno Chaffee Zoo in west Fresno Wednesday morning.

It happened in the area of Harrison and Belmont around 5:30 a.m. Police said someone in that neighborhood shot at a house, hitting the man twice. No one inside the house was hit.

The man was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries, according to police.

No suspect information was made available.

Another shooting happened a few hours earlier in downtown Fresno Wednesday morning.
