Lerdo Jail is still on lockdown after a fight broke out involving more than 100 inmates Tuesday night.

A fight involving some inmates broke out at a housing unit around 10 p.m. and then quickly spread to two other housing units, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.

More than two dozen deputies and California Highway Patrol officers were called from off the streets to help the situation.

No deputies were injured during the fight, but four inmates were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.

The fight lasted around two hours, and several parts of the housing units were damaged, including televisions, seats, tables and doors.

Lerdo will remain on lockdown until further notice. The jail is only accepting professional visits at this time.
